Our lovely Sarasota client brought us in to update her beautiful Longboat Key waterfront condo. She already had a few important great room pieces but didn’t know how to move forward to complete the look.

We got right to work!

Her walls were all light green and most of the furniture was a dark brown which she had grown tired of. The long living room TV wall needed light, drama and surfaces to present her elegant collection of coastal inspired artwork. The dining room needed all new furniture yet had a beautiful and enormous (although brown) bamboo themed bas relief mirror as its focal point reflecting the view of the gulf.

The first thing we did was paint the walls a soft white, replace the view blocking curtains with custom roller shades, and install ceiling fans and lighting. We replaced the tall brown TV hutch with a gorgeous low and long credenza, mounted a larger tv on the wall above it, and added custom iron and glass etageres on each side. This created a huge and dramatic focal point for the living room, and added space and light to shine onto her beautiful accessories. Styling them in a balanced harmonious way was super fun, making sure to mix textures, shapes and colors to create a cohesive flow.

In the dining room we updated all the furniture to more modern pieces in softer tones, mixing silvers, golds and gentle neutrals.

Our talented artist from Wall Wizardry refinished the huge brown bamboo bas relief mirror to a soft metallic champagne which sparkled against the new soft white walls. We created a set of custom framed coastal bird paintings for above the new credenza, and highlighted the new stone dining table with a gorgeous metal orb chandelier with clear crystal ball at the base. The finishing touches were gently styling the new dining room surfaces with her pretty accessories.

Our client loves her newly designed updated home which seems to have more space than before, is lighter and brighter, and is enhanced by her collection of beautiful accessories.
