We at SRQ Interior Design were blessed to continue the transformation, this time of the kitchen, in our elegant client’s home in Panther Ridge, Lakewood Ranch.

The kitchen island countertop and pendant lights had already been replaced to a more modern outlook, yet an interior design boost was needed to finish the overall effect.

The first thing was to paint the kitchen island a sexy dark grey color, followed by finding the perfect updated counter chairs. The dark island color inhibits shoe scuff marks, and the cream colored seating pops against the island’s dark base color.

A new backsplash was next, and we chose a wobbly farmhouse white ceramic tile to maintain the organic feel.

The most obvious change, as well as easiest to determine, was painting all the oak colored cabinets to match the newly painted light colored walls, and replacing all the small knobs to dark long pulls.
We always say “handles are the jewelry of the kitchen”! We always suggest to make them as long as elegantly possible to address the height and width of cabinets and drawers.
