From Dated to Timeless: A Sarasota Family Room Transformation

From Dated to Timeless: A Sarasota Family Room Transformation

We were honored to redesign a Palm Aire Sarasota family room to feature a built-in fireplace and complete an inviting  Neo-Transitional look from wall color to furniture and all the way through to accessorizing.

Gone went the wallpaper border trim and sponged gold walls, overload of cramped brown leather furniture, and maroon and brown color scheme.

In came a new color palette of white, silver, navy and caramel. This color story is a mix of cool AND warm, which harmonizes with nature.

A cool stacked stone was chosen for the fireplace, 2 tones of soft silver walls and fireside shelves, (notice the darker toe-kick in the AFTER photo) a cozy navy linen sofa and caramel leather recliners, (perfect for the king and queen of the house) were the starting points.

Finishing touches were adding a color coordinating rug, toss pillows and organic floral and leafy arrangements.  We balanced each fireside wall with reframed family photos and mixed gold and silver metals and finishes to create an inviting family sanctuary…(another mix of cool and warm!)

We permanently “borrowed” a large coffee table from another room, had talented artist Mary Fragapane from Wall Wizardry transform it into our requested 2 tones of grey, and added a custom glass top. The “new” coffee table worked perfectly in this room!

If you have a family room that needs updating and you don’t know where or how to start, let’s chat.
