Here’s the scenario: a cramped outdoor dining table nobody used, squeezed onto a lanai with a view that deserved so much more. My clients already had a perfectly good dining outdoor spot elsewhere, so this space was just… existing. Not living. We changed that.
The after? A true outdoor living room. Deep seating, layered cushions in a color story that plays beautifully against the greenery, a mix of finishes that feel collected rather than matched, and plants placed with real intention instead of an afterthought. Now, when it rains, they can sit undercover, coffee or cocktail in hand, facing the view instead of a table built for a meal they weren’t eating.
Now I want YOUR vote: are you Team Dining (that color palette and texture combination) or Team Lounge Layout (the furniture, toss pillows, and plant placement pulling it all together)? Comment below and let me know!
One important rule: no votes on the pups! Yes, the before photo has two, the after has one — but that’s a story for another day, not a design critique.

Has your lanai stopped fitting your lifestyle?
