SRQ Interior Design

A beautifully designed home starts with collaboration between the homeowner and the our design team. We start each project by asking questions, listening to nuanced responses, reading body language, and partnering with the client. For example what might be a favorite color, piece of artwork or toss pillow? How big is their visiting family, do they love to travel, cook or tend to plants? Where do they spend most of the at-home time?

We at SRQ Interior Design create within our clients varied styles, tastes and lifestyles whether modern or coastal, farmhouse, transitional, organic modern or completely eclectic. Designing kids rooms and playrooms is a ton of fun as well!

Our design team provides full home renovations including full kitchens and baths, pools and fireplaces, and curate an entire home with new furniture and accessories. We also help new arrivals with their own furniture and artwork create a cohesive flow, perfect for their new Florida lifestyle.

If you are ready for creative guidance for refreshing design ideas, and want to work with a design team that truly listens to who you are and what you love, pleases give us a call. We are looking forward to making your home gorgeous and uniquely yours.

I feel so incredibly lucky to live in beautiful Sarasota, after practically a lifetime of fashion designing in Manhattan creating hundreds of garment collections. My passion became combining beautiful groupings of fabrics that create a unique and exciting story. Fashion and interior design speak the same language of texture, balance and textiles. Designing a home is much the same and starts with color, print and pattern. Above all it must have the personality of the homeowner.

Like so many of our clients I moved from up north and wanted to incorporate precious furniture like my grandmother’s dressing table and family art into my new Florida home. My taste evolved and eye for color shifted and refreshing solutions developed to make these inherited pieces work. Every client has such varied collections and the exciting challenge is to create balance, flow and above all a welcoming comfortable home.

Interior Designer

For the last ten or so years, in my fun free time I designed friend’s and colleague’s spaces, worked with developers doing home staging, and flipped houses with my husband and partner. I also consulted with agencies who managed rental properties in sharing ideas, tips and advice on how they should be designed and decorated for maximum rental income.

After more than 30 years in the retail industry working for some great retailers like The Gap, Restoration Hardware and Barnes & Noble, I made the leap in 2019 to join my husband’s architecture and structural engineering firm to head an interiors division out of our Chicago office.

Launching this exciting business during Covid was a challenge and the experience was my inspiration to pursue my dream job of focusing solely on interior design. We made our big move to beautiful Venice where I use merchandising skills honed over many years in retail to create beautiful, curated and purposeful interiors for our residential clients. I am passionate about creating spaces that make people feel beautiful, happy and relaxed. I truly believe home is where the heart is. Interior Design is about listening, creativity and having fun. I love brainstorming with my clients and designing spaces that reflect their life and their own passions. Whether it is a single room or an entire house, design should reflect you and continue to evolve as you do. I always enjoyed building relationships with my retail customers and I find that today having those same connections with our clients allows for creating truly amazing spaces.
